If you have ever had a pimple in the nose, you probably wince when you recall how painful it was. Pimples in the nose tend to hurt a lot because the skin of the nose is so sensitive and full of blood vessels. I have received several inquiries about this problem from readers on my site.

Here we will break down the causes of pimples inside nose areas and what you can do to fix it.

Simple Pimple in Nose Solutions

Cotton swabs are indispensible tools for dealing with pimples in the nose

“What can I do about a painful pimple in my nose?” This is a question I get from readers several times a month so I thought it was time to address the problem with a specific post. Some people will never get one, while others seem to suffer from a weekly pimple in nostril nightmare!

These pimples can be a bit tricky to deal with because of their location and composition. Pimples in nose and nostril areas are not the same as pimples on the face so they require a different type of treatment. Thankfully, these pimples are much easier to deal with than their facial counterparts.

Acne Tips 101’s Definitive Guide on How to Treat a Pimple in the Nose

1.	Soften it. Apply a warm compress to the affected area. This will help soften the surrounding skin so it will be easier to treat. If the pimple is close enough to the nostril opening, you can probably get away with placing a warm washcloth over your nose but if it’s slightly further up, you might need to use a cotton swab soaked in warm water. Leave in place for ten minutes.

2.	Dry it out. If there is not a white head or you don’t feel comfortable popping it, another option is to dry it out. The best things you can use for this purpose are alcohol and tea tree oil.

Alcohol is the preferred choice because most people already have it on hand. On the other hand, it can be very drying.

Tea Tree Oil is another option because it is a natural antiseptic and has a more pleasant smell than rubbing alcohol.

Once you have decided what to use to dry it out, soak a cotton swab in alcohol or tea tree oil and hold it up against the pimple for 1-2 minutes three times a day. This should dry the pimple out and help it go away eventually.

3.	Extract it. If the nostril pimple has a white head, you can try to squeeze it out very carefully. You absolutely must use a cotton swab soaked in alcohol to do this or you risk causing further infection. Don’t attempt to squeeze it out with your nail, no matter how tempting it is!

Instead, use two cotton swabs soaked in alcohol on either side of the pimple in place of your nails so you can empty it out safely. Press gently. If nothing comes out, try using a warm compress a bit longer. When you push on it, it is going to hurt but once you get the white stuff out, it is going to provide you with instant relief from that eye-watering pimple in nostril pain!

4.	Keep the area clean! After popping or drying out the nose pimple, apply an antibiotic cream like Neosporin or polysporin to the affected area.

Causes of Pimples in Nose

Another question I get asked a lot is, “Why do I keep getting a pimple inside my nose?” Even if you know how to treat these pimples, it’s preferable that they never form in the first place. Thankfully there are a few things you can watch out for if you’re prone to nose pimples that should keep the problem at bay.

The nose is one area of the face that is very susceptible to infection. Something as small as an ingrown hair can form the dreaded pimple inside nostril syndrome. There are plenty of other ways bacteria can enter the nostril and cause problems. Putting your fingers in your nose is another common cause of nostril pimples.

Ingrown hairs

Bacteria + Sharp Nose Hair + Delicate Nostril Skin = Pimple Inside Nose

When it’s broken down like that, it should be pretty easy to understand. What happens when you get an ingrown hair in your nose? The sharp tip of the nose hair pokes through your nostril’s thin skin, creating a great place for bacteria to enter. And we all know that the nose is a breeding ground for bacteria. That’s why even the tiniest cut or hole can lead to a clogged pore that becomes infected.

Nose Hair Plucking and Trimming

Another common pimple in nose cause is nose hair maintenance. Occasionally while plucking or trimming the nose hairs, you might cause a small nick or tear to the thin skin lining your nostril. This almost always leads to the formation of a small, infected pimple inside the nostril.

Of course you shouldn’t avoid trimming your nose hairs if they are very noticeable, but you should be mindful of this possibility and trim with a steady hand. If you do get a nick, dab it with alcohol and antibiotic cream like Neosporin to keep bacteria out.

Other Advice for Pimple in Nose Problems

If you don’t have alcohol or tea tree oil on hand to dry out the pimple, salt water will work in a pinch.

If the pimple is really high up inside your nostril, do not attempt to treat it yourself. See your family doctor or a dermatologist for help.

Keep your fingers out of your nose! If you need to reach inside your nose for any reason, be sure to use a tissue instead to avoid the possibility of introducing more bacteria into your nose.

New study shows patients taking oral antibiotics for acne are 3 times more likely to suffer sore throats

A recent study conducted at the University of Pennsylvania and published in the Archives of Dermatology has uncovered a link between antibiotics for acne and sore throats. Two studies were conducted and both found a higher incidence of sore throats in college students taking antibiotics for acne versus those with acne who did not take antibiotics. The risk of sore throats severe enough to warrant a doctor visit is three times higher in people taking antibiotics for acne than those who are not.

This risk is only associated with oral antibiotics. That is to say, students who used topical antibiotics such as erythromycin for their acne did not have more sore throats than the general population.

How Does This Happen?

Dr. David Margolis and his colleagues at the University of Pennsylvania followed college students over a long period of time to make their assessment. After all, people who take oral antibiotics for acne don’t just take it for a few days or weeks like people with sinus infections do. They often take them for months or years.

The study did not find a clear cause for the increased risk of sore throats. However, based on what doctors and researchers already know about the way antibiotics work, it appears that the cause could be the way that antibiotics change the balance of bacteria in the throat. The result is that the good bacteria, which defends the throat from infection, is eliminated and therefore the bad bacteria is able to multiply and cause sore throats.

It’s a very similar principle to the way antibiotics often cause diarrhea by killing the good bacteria that defend the stomach from illness. However, they also found that the sore throats were not caused by strep, which left them without a clear conclusion.

What Should You Do?

What does this mean for you if you are taking oral antibiotics for acne? It definitely does not mean that you should stop taking them. It is just another of the “side effects” to be aware of. If your acne is very severe, you might prefer to have sore throats than deal with pimples and that is fine. It’s a personal decision for a lot of people.

You need to weigh the pros and cons before making a decision about continuing or stopping use. Many doctors are hesitant to prescribe antibiotics for moderate cases of acne because there is a concern of building antibiotic resistance. However, those suffering from severe acne are often desperate for a cure and oral antibiotics happen to be quite effective at dealing with certain types of acne.

Topical antibiotics work well on many types of acne, too. It’s a good starting point for many people looking for medical cures for acne. Some patients find that topical antibiotics cause excessive dryness, however. It is best to research the issue thoroughly and see if you find the risks to be worth it. The idea of a magical pill you can swallow to get rid of acne is a very attractive one, but antibiotics are not without their share of side effects, like any other acne treatment.

Everyone knows that water is good for them. We are supposed to drink at least 8 glasses of water daily. However, many fail to realize just how many body systems are in fact affected in a positive manner by getting enough water. Many fail to meet the minimum recommended amount of water each day. A lack of water can cause problems with various body systems. One of these systems is the skin. Water is very beneficial to skin. One may wonder why water is good for the skin. The answer is both simple and useful.

Water is the basic life force of our bodies. Water is present in blood and cells. Without water people experience rapid deterioration of their health. However, the converse is also often true. People can experience an increase in health by getting enough water every day.

Water for Acne

Water is a natural detoxifier. Every day we are exposed to various chemicals and toxins. Pesticides, smog, and smoke are just a few of the toxins that we encounter every day. Toxins in the body can be a root cause of various skin conditions including acne. When the body has sufficient water, it is able to remove these toxins and thus it lessens the likelihood that acne will occur. This helps the skin to have less dirt, toxins and bacteria which are all major causes of acne. Drinking water for acne problems is just one thing you can do to stack the odds in your favor, and it requires very little effort and expense.

Water for Dry Skin & Wrinkles

A well hydrated body also generally has well hydrated skin. Drinking enough water will ensure that the skin is able to have access to the fluids that it needs. This can lessen the appearance of wrinkles and make the skin appear more vibrant and filled with life. Water can greatly benefit the skin of people affected by dry skin.

Another reason why water is good for the skin is that it can be used to clean and maintain the skin. Skin is our body’s protection from the world. As such, it is exposed to dirt and grease and other things that can make it dirty. Water combined with soap or other mild cleansers will help the skin remain clean. Clean skin is more attractive, more comfortable and often healthier than perpetually dirty skin.

Anyone looking to find an affordable, simple way to better their skin will find that an increase in water consumption may work wonders. Water for acne, water for dry skin, water for wrinkles… water really is an all-star when it comes to complexion issues. In addition to helping the skin, it may assist other body systems also. Water has positive effects on the body, both inside and out. Best of all, it’s cheap and easy to find! Some of the best acne tips really are the simplest ones.

Did you know that you can help keep your skin clear simply by using items from your kitchen? Many people have had some luck using these types of acne remedies to help their complexion. This is a great solution when you are low on money or don’t feel like going to buy some acne creams from the store. While many of these acne remedies treatments work, each person is different and your results may vary. But if something doesn’t work for you, at least you didn’t waste too much money!

Here are some of the top kitchen acne remedies:

•	Apple Cider Vinegar – You may have heard about people using it to help with weight loss, but apple cider vinegar also has magical properties for the skin! It helps your skin maintain its pH balance and is also an antiseptic which helps keep bacteria at bay. Many people make a toner out of it by using half water and half apple cider vinegar and applying daily after washing. Remember that vinegar is acidic so start with less vinegar and more water and then slowly increase the ratio once you are sure your skin can handle it.

•	Potato – You might feel like Mr. Potato Head, but enough people swear this works that it is worth trying to find out if you are one of them. Proponents claim that if you slice a potato and put the cut side right on top of your pimple, holding it there for about 15 minutes and not rinsing afterward so the potato juice sits on your skin, that your pimple will go away much faster. There are mixed results on this one but if you have a potato lying around and you’re desperate, there isn’t much to lose.

•	Lemon juice – You know how some people use lemon juice to make their hair blonder? Well, lemon juice has a similar effect on the skin. It can help lighten red marks. It also works really well on acne pimples and pimple scars. The citric acid helps dry pimples faster. Put some on a cotton swab and apply it directly to the pimple. Be careful if you have sensitive skin because lemon juice can sting or even burn. You may want to dilute it with water or honey.

•	Water – Models often claim their beauty secret is “drinking a lot of water”. They all say this because it really does make a difference in your complexion by helping your skin stay hydrated and flushing out the toxins. Drinking plenty of water is also associated with weight loss, so this is a great, cheap way to help your complexion.

•	Ice – Many people use ice when they bump their head to keep the swelling down. Ice works much the same way on inflamed pimples by keeping the redness down. If you are experiencing a huge eruption, ice it for about 10 minutes every hour and it should subside noticeably. Ice can also be used in conjunction with benzoyl peroxide as it helps it to penetrate better.

If you are looking for a great acne remedies, look no further than your very own kitchen. All of these cures are cheap, easy to institute, and fairly gentle. Some of the best acne tips are also some of the cheapest. No more wasting money on expensive store bought treatments!

Waking up in the morning to discover a new pimple will leave many people searching for a solution on how to get rid of pimples. Everyone has a different method and many home remedies, however there are a few ways to get rid of pimples that are universally accepted as being effective.

A pimple results when a pore on your skin is blocked. This blockage usually results from dead skin cells, dirt, or excess oil. The blocked pore can easily become swollen or inflamed. Pimples commonly fill with pus, making them uncomfortable and very unsightly. The best solution for how to get rid of pimples is simply to prevent them from occurring. Since pimples are primarily caused by dead skin cells, dirt, and oil, it may be possible to eliminate or lessen their occurrence through dedicated facial cleansing and care.

Choose a gentle, pH balanced face wash. Many companies have specific cleansers available to help prevent and treat pimples. Ingredients such as beta hydroxy acid (BHA) and salicylic acid can help breakouts at bay. In addition, you will also want to purchase a mild toner and an oil free moisturizer. Beware of harsh toners because they can strip your skin of its natural oils and lead to other problems.

Cleanse your face twice each day, in the morning and in the evening. After washing, apply the toner with a cotton ball. Wait a few minutes and moisturize your face. Using a moisturizer will keep your skin from drying out too much. Dry skin will produce more oil which can result in more pimples. Even if your skin is oily, you should make an effort to use moisturizer for that reason. Look for a light moisturizer that is labels as non-comedogenic to be sure it won’t clog your pores.

Some people have very sensitive skin that can easily be irritated by the use of cleansers. If you are unable to find a gentle cleanser that doesn’t irritate your skin, you may want to try washing your face using only water. Water can serve as an excellent, non-irritating cleanser when used alone. You will still need to use a gentle soap to remove makeup, however. One excellent choice when it comes to soap for sensitive skin on the face is Pears Original Transparent Soap.

Additionally, you need to keep your face from excessive contact with dirt and oil. Pillowcases and bed sheets quickly collect dead skin cells, oil, and dirt. Change your pillowcase regularly to keep oil and dirt from transferring back onto your skin. Some find that changing their pillow cases daily can play a huge role in getting rid of pimples. You also need to keep your phone clean. Wipe your phone down daily, especially the part that comes into contact with the side of your face while talking. If you use a shared phone at work, try to wipe it down with antibacterial wipes regularly.

Should prevention prove unsuccessful and a pimple does appear, some spot treatments can help to quickly eliminate the pimple. Try applying tea tree oil directly to the pimple. Tea tree oil is a strong, natural antiseptic that can help to kill the bacteria that caused the pimple. There are also commercially prepared tea tree oil acne treatments. You can also use products that contain benzoyl peroxide or sulfur to help clear up pimples. Try not to pop pimples as this can lead to pimple scars.

The best way to get rid of pimples is to prevent them in the first place. That’s why so many acne tips focus on prevention. Careful facial cleansing and care can greatly reduce the occurrence of pimples. This is something you must be very conscientious about. It requires a small amount of daily effort but in the long run you will be rewarded with clearer, more beautiful skin.

Acne is not only embarrassing, it can be very uncomfortable. If acne is not properly treated or is particularly severe, it can cause lasting scars. Acne home remedies are a great way to deal with this recurring problem because they are effective, easily accessible, and inexpensive. Here are several home remedies for acne that can reduce or eliminate this irritating skin condition.

Acne is a skin condition that is characterized by swelling and inflammation of the skin. It often results in visible pus pockets on the skin that are known as pimples. Pimples can range from large to small. They can be very painful or almost painless. There are also varying levels of acne. Some have mild conditions while others can have very severe and extreme conditions. Mild acne responds best and quickest to acne home remedies whereas those with severe acne might need some patience and persistence before they notice a dramatic improvement.

There are many facial cleansers and topical applications that can obtained from many stores without the requirement of a prescription. These products generally contain mild cleansers and mild doses of various medications which have been shown to help alleviate acne symptoms. These treatments are generally used in various combinations over an extended period of time and can be effective in greatly reducing acne without a visit to a doctor when used properly. However, they can contain a lot of strong chemicals and some people are averse to putting them on their face. People who want to avoid using synthetic ingredients often turn to home acne remedies. This is a great and cheap way to treat your skin with natural ingredients.

Many natural acne home remedies do exist. Many of these utilize common household products in a unique way to help lessen the severity and occurrence of acne. In fact, you may already have a lot of these ingredients at home which means you won’t have to go to the store and spend money. Many are simple to use which makes trying one or two ideas a easy and wise choice.

One of the best acne home remedies is to apply a mild acid, such as diluted vinegar or lemon juice to affected areas. Apple cider vinegar works very well for this purpose and has a slightly better smell than regular vinegar. If dryness occurs, consider applying this treatment directly onto pimples rather than over the full face. People with sensitive skin may notice a slight stinging upon applying an acidic home acne remedy. If this occurs, reduce usage to occasionally as your skin builds up a tolerance to it. This treatment can also be removed after a shorter period of time if necessary. The acid helps to cut through oil on the face, which is a major cause of acne and helps to loosen dead skin cells, which are another cause of acne.

Baking soda is a great facial scrub to use once a week. It helps to remove dead skins cell while simultaneously killing various bacteria that found on the face, making it a great acne home remedy. Simply combine baking soda and a little water to create a thick paste and then use this paste to scrub facial skin. Rinse when finished and let dry.

Tea Tree Oil and various tea tree oil acne products may also be effective. Consider dabbing diluted oil directly on to break outs or using a cleanser or toner that contains this acne fighting oil. Although this oil is strong, it is a very effective anti-bacterial treatment. It is also one of the better home remedies for acne scars. Keep in mind that this and all other essential oils should be avoided by pregnant women.

As you can see, there are a lot of options when it comes to getting rid of pimples with household items. So many acne home remedies are available and for most people it’s just a matter of trying these different natural acne tips until you find one that works. Because these treatments are very inexpensive, you won’t waste a lot of money finding a good home acne remedy. Moreover, most of these treatments are household items that you can use for something else if you don’t have much luck using them for acne. Trying a few simple acne remedies until the ideal one is found can lessen the pain and embarrassment often associated with acne.

Many people wonder how to get rid of acne scars. Acne scars are an often embarrassing facial scar that is left behind by bad cases of pimples. While not painful, these scars can be large and deep. Everybody’s skin is different and some may see better results than others, however there are many natural and effective ways to reduce and eliminate acne scars.

Acne scars are caused by pimples. To lessen the occurrence and severity of pimple scars, you will want to lessen the appearance of pimples. Proper facial cleansing and care is necessary. Wash your face at least twice each day using a mild and gentle cleanser. Apply an oil-free moisturizer soon after washing. Regularly change your pillowcases and sheets. Avoid touching your face as much as possible. Additionally, if you choose to wear makeup, select gentle products and always remove them very thoroughly each night.

In addition to taking care of your skin to avoid potential acne, you will want to apply special treatments to your skin to help it regenerate. If you want to know how to get rid of acne scars naturally, here are a few things you can try. A great natural solution to help your skin heal is to use vitamin E directly on the skin. Vitamin E can make skin appear very oily and greasy, so it is best to apply this treatment in the evening right before bed. Simply puncture a vitamin E capsule and apply the liquid found inside to clean skin. Since vitamin E is an excellent natural healer, it will provide your skin with the nutrients that it needs to regenerate without leaving behind acne scars.

Using a gentle exfoliator once a week will also help to lessen the severity of pimple scars. Baking soda is an excellent and gentle exfoliant that you most likely already have in your home. This is one of the best home remedies for acne scars. Make a paste using baking soda and a little water. Apply this paste directly to clean skin. Gently rub the paste onto your skin using circular motions. Rinse thoroughly and apply a light, oil-free moisturizer afterward. This will help to fade acne scars and reveal healthier skin underneath.

Water is also an essential component of healthy skin. Many models and dermatologists mention water among their top skincare and acne tips. Make sure that you drink plenty of water each day. In fact, you may want to consider drinking several glasses more than the minimum recommended amount. Water is an excellent support to healthy skin and will help to eliminate and heal acne scars.

Because acne scarring is so prevalent, there are numerous solutions you can buy to help with the problem. If you are looking for products for acne scars, there are a few standouts that you may want to consider. AHAs or alpha hydroxy acids act as chemical exfoliants that remove dead skin cells and help reveal the healthier skin resting underneath, which over time makes the scars fade. BHAs or beta hydroxy acids also help the skin regenerate and heal after a bout of acne. Tretinoin like that found in Retin-A and Renova has a healing effect on the skin and helps the skin to make new cells faster.

More extensive scarring may require a stronger treatment. If you have deep acne pits covering larger areas of your face, you may want to look into laser resurfacing. This method of acne scar removal uses a laser to burn off the top layer of skin. This sounds rather dramatic but the intent is to force your skin to create new cells to repair the lasered off area. The new skin that grows in should be smooth and unscarred. If you want to know how to get rid of acne scars fast, this is probably going to be your best bet as the other methods take time to work. Dermal fillers such as collagen or hyalouronic acid can also be injected into deep scars to help fill them out fairly quickly.

Patience is critical as you learn how to get rid of acne scars. No solution can immediately solve this problem; this process will take time. Proper skin care and maintenance will help your skin heal from pimple scars naturally. By taking great care of your skin now, you can lessen the frequency and severity of future acne scars.

If you are wondering how to get rid of blackheads, you may be surprised to find out that there is more than one way to solve this problem. Not only are there several good methods for tackling blackheads, there are also a few things you can start doing to help prevent blackheads in the future.

If you have ever examined your pores closely in the mirror, you may have noticed these small (nor not so small) blockages. They look like little brown or black dots and a little squeeze usually manages to push all or most of the gunk lurking inside up to the surface. Many people report a feeling of satisfaction arising from clearing all of this bad stuff out of their pores. But it can be very time-consuming and it’s also risky because bacteria could enter the pore and this could lead to further problems. Thankfully there are better ways you can handle a blackhead problem. General acne tips don’t necessarily apply because blackheads require a slightly different strategy than acne pimples.

A blackhead is basically a clogged pore. When your pore fails to properly drain the sebum that it naturally produces, it builds up inside of the pore. When the top part of this sebum is exposed to air and dust, it turns black and becomes known as a blackhead. Getting rid of blackheads is very important because if they are allowed to continue building on the skin, bacteria will eventually enter them and lead to pimples. It is so much easier to deal with a blackhead than it is to deal with a pimple and its aftermath so it’s important to establish a good routine for dealing with this pesky part of life.

You should be very careful about what you put on your skin if you are trying to avoid blackheads. Oil-based products are a big no-no. Read labels carefully and look for products that are specifically labeled as “non-comedogenic”, which means they will not clog pores. Even if it says “dermatologist tested”, that is not a guarantee it won’t clog pores so be sure it says non-comedogenic. Oil is the main culprit when it comes to blackheads so if you have a big problem with these, you need to avoid using any type of oil on your face. This means not only lotions and moisturizers but also makeup and sunblock. You can still use all of these items as long as you opt for water-based formulas. Mineral makeup is a great substitute for oil-based liquid foundation and much less likely to clog pores.

On the other hand, you don’t want to take this advice about avoiding oil too far. That means you should not strip all the oil from your skin just because you read this article on how to get rid of blackheads and it said oil is bad. A small amount of natural oil is actually good. Your skin needs to be balanced. If you use harsh cleansers full of chemicals that strip all the natural oil from your face, your skin will react by producing even more oil to make up for the oil you have just tried so hard to remove. Let your skin do its natural thing but don’t make it worse by adding more oil in the form of products. That’s the main thing to keep in mind when it comes to blackheads. Some oil is good and even necessary, but too much is a recipe for disaster.

If you want to know how to get rid of blackheads naturally, there are a few things you can do that don’t involve using chemicals. You may have noticed that it is easier to remove blackheads when you have just stepped out of the shower. That’s because the steam can help soften your pores and the dead skin and dirt that naturally starts to collect inside of them. With enough steam, the blackheads should actually slide right out, which means you don’t have to risk tearing the skin with your nails and causing an infection. You can steam your face for about fifteen minutes, taking extreme care not to burn it, to help melt the sebum and then scrub gently with a washcloth to whisk it all away. This can be very effective for a lot of people but it does need to be repeated a few times per week.

If you have very stubborn blackheads, you might need to try a more serious approach when it comes to blackhead removal. A blackhead extractor is a special metal tool that applies pressure around the entire circumference of the blackhead. This helps push all the grime up to the surface without having to use your nails or other tools. It is considered a gentle way to extract a blackhead. This is particularly effective if done after a hot shower or after steaming the face.

Pore strips are another popular method for blackhead extraction and are a great choice if you want to know how to get rid of blackheads fast. These are basically small pieces of paper that have a special glue on one side. They are applied to the skin for about ten minutes at which point the glue adheres to the blackheads. Upon removal, the blackheads are then pulled out of the pores as the strip is peeled off. It’s not too different in theory from waxing to remove hair and it hurts much less than taking off a bandage. You can be assured that it is working because you can actually see all the blackheads stuck into the paper after you remove it. Again, this is something that needs to be repeated often because blackheads will continue to form so this should be used in conjunction with taking steps to prevent blackheads from forming.

Salicylic acid acts as a chemical exfoliant, which can be more effective than manual extraction if you’re not adverse to using chemicals. This acid is also known as BHA or beta hydroxy acid and is found in many over-the-counter acne treatments. It provokes the skin to shed dead skin cells more readily, which helps reduce clogging and helps bring sebum to the surface of the skin for easier removal. It also helps prevent blackheads and pimples in the future by neutralizing bacteria. You can also use a face wash containing salicylic acid as a means of preventing blackheads.

As you can see, there are plenty of great ways to rid your skin of blackheads. By avoiding common causes of blackheads and carefully removing the ones you get, you should be able to keep the problem under control.

One type of acne that doesn’t seem to get as much attention as the others is chest acne. It is easy to find information on facial acne and even back acne but acne on the chest is largely ignored. This is a very specific type of acne that has different causes and requires slightly different treatment than facial acne does.

In order to find the right chest acne treatment, it is important to consider the cause. All types of acne are related to clogged pores but pores can become clogged for different reasons. In the chest area, sweating is a common culprit of clogged pores. Both men and women naturally sweat in the chest area but women in particular suffer from this problem as a result of sweat becoming trapped inside of cleavage. For this reason back and chest acne strikes women more often than men.

The best way to treat chest and back acne caused by sweating is to avoid situations where sweat is allowed to rest on the skin for long periods of time. If you have determined that breakouts on your chest seem to follow workouts, you will have to be vigilant. This means taking a shower immediately afterward. You may want to consider showering at the gym if you don’t already. You should also always bring a dry change of clothes with you, even when you are not working out. If you are going to spend time outdoors in the heat for any reason, always have a fresh shirt on hand to change into when you notice yourself getting sweaty. Also, be sure to bring a towel to dry off the sweat. This should lead to a drastic reduction in chest pimples.

You should also make wise choices when it comes to materials if you are prone to sweating and acne on chest. Look for light, airy fabrics. Cotton is the most breathable material. You can also buy workout clothes specifically designed to whisk sweat away from the body. These can really make a big difference if sweating is the cause of your problem. In particular, avoid wearing very tight clothes that don’t allow the skin to breathe.

If you’re not particularly active and still get more than your fair share of chest pimples, it’s possible that you have a slight hormonal imbalance. Too much androgen, which is a male hormone but is also present in women, can cause oil glands to go into overdrive. This usually affects other parts of the body and face as well, so if you suspect this is the problem you should consult with a dermatologist. A hormonal imbalance is best treated internally using prescription medication.

If you’ve ruled out sweating and a hormonal imbalance, you might want to look at what products come into contact with the skin on your chest. Lotions and oils are notorious for leading to clogged pores. Suntan oils and creams in particular can cause chest breakouts so try switching to oil-free formulations and see if the situation improves. Avoid using perfumes as well. Although spray perfumes don’t usually clog pores, you could be experiencing an allergic reaction that looks like acne. Chest and neck areas are susceptible to these types of allergic reactions. You might also want to switch detergents to a type formulated for sensitive skin to rule this out as another possible cause.

In any case, try to resist the temptation to pop chest pimples because this can lead to infections and even scars. It is a lot easier to treat it when it’s in the acne stage than it is to get rid of chest acne scars. Regardless of the cause, it’s a good idea to use an anti-bacterial soap when washing the area and then dry it thoroughly. Topical treatments such as benzoyl peroxide creams can also be used but be sure to let them dry completely before getting dressed.

Having acne in the chest area can be embarrassing but solving it is fairly straightforward if you follow the above acne tips. Keep the area dry, avoid tight clothes, and stay away from perfumes and oils and you should notice a much clearer chest in no time.

You may have seen tea tree oil acne products in the store and wondered what exactly this ingredient does. Tea tree oil enjoys a fantastic reputation as a natural acne treatment, but is it really effective? Treatments for acne can be very expensive and most of them are full of harsh chemicals. More and more often, people are seeking home remedies for acne in their quest for a clearer complexion. Tea tree oil has recently emerged as a strong player in the holistic acne cure scene. This essential oil, which is derived from the leaves of the tea tree and is prevalent in Australia, is well-regarded for its antiseptic qualities and has been used to successfully treat conditions ranging from from acne to athlete’s foot to MRSA to herpes. This oil is an all-star when it comes to killing germs including the ones that cause acne.

A lot of people have reported great results using tea tree oil for acne and it is often included in many acne tips. It is very simple to use. You only need to apply a small amount directly on the blemish using a cotton swab. It can be very strong and drying so it’s better if you dilute first with a bit of water, vitamin E oil, or aloe vera gel. It is also very effective at healing acne scars, although it may take some time before you see any results. You can also use tea tree oil for blackheads. Studies have shown this home acne remedy is actually just as effective at treating acne as benzoyl peroxide while being much less irritating, which makes it an ideal treatment for people who have had bad reactions to benzoyl peroxide in the past.

In addition to using tea tree oil straight up, you can also find skincare products that contain it as an ingredient. Many natural skincare products found in health stores feature this highly effective ingredient. You can find tea tree oil acne products such as toners, cleansers, and acne spot treatments. It has a very distinctive smell that is clean, herbal, and almost medicinal and the smell can linger for a while. Some people find the fragrance to be pleasant and it is featured in many of the shampoos that create a “tingling” effect on the scalp.

When taking tea tree oil, there are a few precautions that should be followed. The pure oil is very strong and should never be applied directly to the skin without diluting it first. Do not take it internally because it can be toxic if ingested. It can be irritating so don’t use it more than twice per day. Despite being classified as an oil, it is surprisingly drying so be sure to keep the area moisturized to avoid chemical burns and flaking or dryness. Pregnant or nursing women should never use this or any other essential oil, nor should it be used on children or pets.

Natural tea tree oil acne products are a great introduction to using this oil. Because these products contain other ingredients as well, it is much gentler than using the oil solo and less likely to lead to a reaction. Many people find it best to combine daily use of a tea tree oil face wash for maintenance and reserving use of the tea tree essential oil as a spot treatment. Play around with it and find out what works best for you.

On the whole, a lot of people have had incredible results with this essential oil for acne. Within a few days of beginning treatment with tea tree oil, pimples should be noticeably smaller. Just remember if you have sensitive skin to exercise caution to avoid the possibility of chemical burns because of its strength. Start out by using it once every other day before slowly working your way up to daily or twice daily as your skin builds up a tolerance to it. If you are unsure about using this or have any medical conditions, it is a good idea to check with your doctor before trying any tea tree oil acne treatment. Usually people notice an improvement within a few weeks after beginning to use tea tree oil for acne. If you don’t make any progress by then, it just may not be suited to your skin type or your particular type of acne so discontinue use and try a different method.
